My Modalities

Rational emotive behaviour therapy (REBT) is a type of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) developed by psychologist Albert Ellis. REBT is an action-oriented approach that’s focused on helping people deal with irrational beliefs and learn how to manage their emotions, thoughts, and behaviours in a healthier, more realistic way. When people hold irrational beliefs about themselves or the world, problems can result. The goal of REBT is to help people recognize and alter those beliefs and negative thinking patterns in order to overcome psychological problems and mental distress.

Transactional Analysis (TA) is is a psychoanalytic theory and method of therapy, developed by Eric Berne during the 1950s. Transactions refer to the communication exchanges between people. Transactional analysis is the method used to analyses this process of transactions in communication with others. It requires us to be aware of how we feel, think and behave during interactions with others.

Eric Berne’s  ideas for TA developed from Sigmund Freud’s psychoanalytic theory that childhood experiences have a great impact on our lives as adults and are the basis for the development of our personalities, and psychological or emotional issues that we suffer. In the same way, Berne believed that our childhood experiences, particularly how we are parented, effects the developmental formation of our three ego states (Parent, Adult and Child).

This can then unconsciously cause us to replay the same attitudes and behaviors that our parents had towards us to someone else during a conversation, or to respond to communication and interactions with past childhood anxieties and emotions. Eric Berne proposed that dysfunctional behavior is the result of self-limiting decisions made in childhood in the interest of survival. Such decisions culminate in what Berne called the “life script,” the pre-conscious life plan that governs the way life is lived out. Changing the life script is the aim of transactional analysis psychotherapy. Replacing violent organizational or societal scripting with cooperative non-violent behavior is the aim of other applications of transactional analysis.

Gestalt therapy is a form of psychotherapy that is centered on increasing a person’s awareness, freedom, and self-direction. It’s a form of therapy that focuses on the present moment rather than past experiences. The word “gestalt” is a German term with no direct English translation. It generally means “whole” or “form.” It is an idea that views every individual as a blend of the mind, emotions, body, and soul with unique experiences and realities.

Gestalt therapy is based on the idea that people are influenced by their present environment. Each individual works to achieve personal growth and balance. This therapy focuses on the use of empathy and unconditional acceptance. This helps individuals get rid of distress by learning how to trust and accept what they feel.

Client-centered therapy is an approach to psychotherapy based on a belief that the client is best able to decide what to explore and how. Client-centered therapy, sometimes referred to as person-centered therapy, was introduced by Carl Rogers in the 1940s. It was a substantial departure from the traditional psychoanalytic therapies of that time. Rogers initially called his approach non-directive therapy and proposed that the therapist’s role was not to direct or instruct the client but to assist the person in understanding his or her own experience of the world and promote positive change through a trustworthy relationship (Brammer, Shostrom, & Abrego, 1989; Krech, Crutchfield, & Livson, 1969). To accomplish this, the therapist has to hold the person in positive regard. In other words, the therapist has to respect and empathize with the client.

Family constellation is a type of therapy based on the idea that problems shift down through generations to cause stress in the here and now. When we examine our feelings and perceptions in a “field of knowing,” we can break out of familial patterns that cause suffering. Family constellation therapy is a therapeutic intervention that a therapist might use in order to gain insight and information into a client’s family history, dynamics, and possible dysfunctional patterns. German therapist Bert Hellinger developed this intervention based on components of Gestalt therapy, psychodynamic therapy, as well as other eclectic influences. When utilizing the family constellation, the therapist has people who are not related to the client take on roles of various family members to act out dynamics related to the client’s concerns. This technique is considered a form of expressive therapy, and the goal is to help the client work through a concern or develop better insight into a conflict.

IEMT is a developing area of rapid therapeutic change work that explores the area of undesired emotions and our ways of being. The process explores the question, “How did we learn to feel the way that we do?” and opens up the possibility of creating the appropriate change in our emotional lives. IEMT addresses and resolves the question, “how did this person learn to feel the way they feel about the things that they feel bad about?” Integral Eye Movement Therapy was developed by Andrew T. Austin based on the original work by Connirae and Steve Andreas

Provocative Change Works consists of three core approaches to shift clients from “a stuck state” to a more fluid state, allowing for greater freedom and choice. This conversational way of working requires the practitioner to pay close attention to client responses, whilst maintaining their own excellent state control. One of the big influences in creating the PCW model is the use of music and how we use voice in communication with others and how to talk to ourselves.

These are:
  • Provoking or stimulating client responses by verbal and non verbal interactions
  • Using non-specific or indirect Hypnosis and metaphor explorations – to create “fluid states” for the client. Eliciting and challenging metaphors
  • Time Framing – Promoting new ways of moving through time and space

Metaphors of Movement is the study of the symbolism and structure of autogenic metaphor and their influence upon reasoning processes. Autogenic metaphors are the metaphors that naturally arise in the language and communication of individuals that may, or may not be shared by other people. Metaphors of Movement primarily concerns itself with metaphors that indicate movement, or lack thereof, and so has its greatest application in the remedy of “stuck states.”

Clinical hypnotherapy is a combination of hypnosis and psychological treatment administered by a trained professional such as a Clinical Hypnotherapist, Psychologist, Mental Health Worker or even a Medical Doctor. The practice of hypnosis for therapeutic purposes involves getting into a relaxed state of mind where your therapist communicates with the subconscious part of your brain and makes suggestions relevant to specific symptoms like pain, anxiety, or addiction. Think of hypnosis as a “connector” linking your subconscious mind to your conscious mind – otherwise referred to as being in a trance like state. By accessing deeply buried memories, experiences and repressed emotions, we can more efficiently identify the root cause of destructive behaviour/habits that may otherwise have taken weeks to uncover. For this reason, many medically trained and allied health professionals are relying on hypnotherapy to fast-track results with their clients.

Past Life Regression (PLR) is a gentle form of hypnotherapy which takes an individual back through time to their previous lives or incarnations by accessing memories and experiences that are normally hidden in their subconscious mind. Life today is so busy and so ‘noisy’ that these memories are usually concealed beneath the noise of everyday thoughts. A PLR session guides you out of the noise and into a deeply quiet and peaceful state where it’s far easier to locate the memories held in your subconscious mind.

Past Life Regression can help you to:
  • Reconnect with past life experiences.
  • Help you understand why you feel a deep connection with certain places.
  • Explore your past life and current Soulmate experiences.
  • Identify physical ailments you have, which may be remnants of past life experiences.
  • Explore unresolved emotions which have carried through into this lifetime, creating fears or beliefs which you have been unable to explain.
  • Acknowledge and embrace the key lessons learned through those lives.

The emotional Empowerment Technique (EET) is based on some of the principles of Acupuncture and Hypnosis. It is a simple tapping procedure that gently realigns the body’s energy system along with incorporating the element of self suggestions to address unresolved emotional issues as a likely contributing cause of physical disease, psychological and emotional dysfunction and personal performance limits.

As we understand now, emotions are closely linked with emotional energy. Disturbing emotions create similar disturbances in energy. These can be experienced in the form of:

  1. Aches and pains
  2. Disturbing recurring thoughts
  3. Heightened emotional pain or disturbances

Negative emotional experiences disrupt the energy meridians that run through our body. When properly applied, EET quickly realigns the energy meridians with respect to negative emotions, disconnects the physical discomfort that we attached to it, and quite often removes the resulting symptoms and induces a partial hypnotic state that allows easier acceptance of suggestions (love, acceptance, healing…) which results in healing on both Physical and Emotional level. This results in improved physical well-being and emotional health as well as higher levels of performance in any arena. EET  has been found to be useful in managing both emotional and physical discomfort.

Healing is a soul bathing experience which we all deserve on an ongoing basis. Soul’s Temple is a self-help healing technique. Soul’s Temple is a sacred platform, beyond religions and beyond norms to discover the divinity in every form.

Stress is what we all live with in today’s world. We often risk our health, money, relationship, prestige and precious opportunities due to stress and stress related break downs. However it is easy to say don’t take stress to others, but there are times when we get caught up in cycle of stresses. Soul’s Temple helps to acknowledge the issue we have and clear off the unwanted emotions that spring out of it. Designed by Dr. Neeta Kapadia, it is the easiest and quickest technique to release the baggage of emotional pressures that we all carry. Beauty of this is you can do this anytime, anywhere and no formal posture required for it. It is based on the principle everything begins with YOU, the moment you accept yourself completely (100%), you won’t have any issues, irritation, anger etc. with anyone else. You are in me, I am in you…

Art therapy provides an opportunity to express metaphor through art expression. In fact, one of the strengths of both approaches is their ability to encourage and enhance storytelling and narratives. Storytelling about a drawing, painting, collage or construction does not have to be literal to be therapeutic. In fact, a child who has experienced traumatic events or is challenged by an emotional disorder may only find it possible to generate imaginative stories. With the support and guidance of the therapist, these narratives serve as a way to slowly and safely release disturbing or terrorizing experiences.

Graphotherapy is a powerful therapy to create desired and powerful changes in one’s life. It is known that whatever your brain thinks, the brain nerve through the meridians and fingers creates the writing. So with reverse change when one makes a focused change in writing, there is change in one’s thoughts. So this way creating a change in thoughts, we can create our own desired personality. It is very helpful for children as they learn at a very young age to focus on what they wish to achieve in their life.

Addition to Handwriting, Signature is a very important tool for a graphologist. The differentiator of a signature is sign and nature. In other words your sign reflects your nature. Your handwriting is your personal life where as your signature reflects your public image.

By making small changes in our writing habits and signatures we can, to a very large extent change our habits and thereby also the events that are associated with our present style. It helps you overcome temporary barriers and enables you to express your true potential. (Graphotherapy)
